Melodic Metal: Delain Announce ‘Apocalypse And Chill’ For February

After releasing two new singles (‘Burning Bridges’ and ‘One Second’), modern melodic metal outfit Delain have announced the cover, tracklist, and release date for their upcoming album.

Apocalypse and Chill is set for a 7 February release. Judging by its name, it might be safe to coin the term “millennial metal” here, but let’s not be too hasty.

01. One Second
02. We Had Everything
03. Chemical Redemption
04. Burning Bridges
05. Vengeance
06. To Live Is To Die
07. Let’s Dance
08. Creatures
09. Ghost House Heart
10. Masters Of Destiny
11. Legions Of The Lost
12. The Greatest Escape
13. Combustion

The album promises to deliver huge riffs and beefed-up synth and orchestrations as it pulls elements from heavy, electronic, and anthemic music.

Melodic Metal: Delain Release New Single

2019 has been a busy year for Delain. The melodic/symphonic metallers have already released two singles and an EP, but their third and latest single, ‘One Second’, blows all of that out of the water with snappy riffs, driving energy, and a powerful chorus.

Delain on ‘One Second:
“We’re happy to present our new single ‘One Second’, an eclectic anthem about falling for that long lost love over and over again. Contrasting our previous orchestral singles, ‘One Second’ showcases the other side of our upcoming album; this song features snappy riffs and a chorus we can’t wait to hear you sing along with, courtesy of Timo Somers. The video was shot on the road in North America. Make sure to catch our upcoming gigs in the US and Europe.”

Delain Releases New Live Video

Symphonic veterans Delain have released a new live music video for their second album hit, ‘Nothing Left’.

The video shows footage from their latest live album + BluRay, Hunter’s Moon, and features Nightwish’s Marco Hietala.

Delain on the new video:
“2019 marks the ten years since we first released ‘Nothing Left’ on
April Rain. Nowadays it’s a rare treat to see the track at one of our live shows, but it hasn’t lost any of its power in the decade that has passed. Performing ‘Nothing Left’ together with Marco Hietala wasone of the highlights of the night in Tivoli, and, in fact, the entire show felt like a highlight. It was one of my favourite shows of our career so far.”

It’s the third and final part of the concept trilogy that began with the EP Lunar Prelude and LP Moonbathers. The album was recorded on Delain’s Danse Macabre Tour 2017 and features numerous guest musicians, including extreme metal drummer/vocalist George Oosthoek and the previously mentioned Marco Hietala.

Marco Hietala on the Danse Macabre Tour:
“I was really pleased to do the tour, because it gave me a chance to challenge myself in different surroundings and band dynamics. In the end it comes down to the same old but great thing. I love doing good shows with good people for good audiences. All for one and one for all!”

Hunter’s Moon has met widespread success, reaching #65 on the Billboard Top 200 and #24 on both the Swiss and German Album Charts.
