Unprocessed Release Second Single From Upcoming Album

The fresh, young, and talanted prog outfit Unprocessed have released the second single to their upcoming Artificial Void, which is set to release on 9 August. These guys are by far my favourite new prog group right now, and if you’ve heard any of their material, you’ll instantly see why.

As usual, ‘Abandoned’ contains all of Unprocessed’s contagious, groovy energy, and, if I’m not mistaken, there’s a Chinese Erhu in background.

02. Artificial Void
03. Ruins
04. Fear
05. Abandoned
06. House Of Waters
07. Avatar
08. Antler’s Decay
09. Down The Spine
10. Another Sky
11. The Movements, Their Echoes
12. Closure

Every prog (and jazz) fan should have these guys on their radar, so make sure to follow the band on Facebook!

Memories Of Old Sign Onto Limb Music

With their debut album still in the works, symphonic powerforce Memories of Old have signed onto the record label Limb Music. The label has represented such bands as Ancient Bards, Rhapsody, Symphonity, and Adagio, so it’s safe to say that the band are in better hands than when they were crowdfunding their album!

Memories of Old are a new epic power metal band featuring the very busy Tommy Johansson (Sabaton guitarist who also literally just released Above the Sky with his band Majestica) on vocals. You can check out their first single, ‘The Land of Xia’, which was released along with the record signing announcement.

The band are currently still recording The Zeramin Game, which is expected to come out later this year.

After splitting with their former vocalist, Christian Palin, earlier this year, Belgian power metal warriors Magic Kingdom have acquired a new addition.

Veteran metal singer Michael Vescera will be the band’s new voice. In more than 35 years in the metal scene, Vescera has been a major contributor to bands such as Obsession, Loudness, and Yngwie J. Malmsteen, and he’s also lent his talents to more than a dozen other bands.

Magic Kingdom’s fifth album is currently in the works, but no release date has yet been confirmed. Go follow the band on Facebook to keep your eye on new developments!

The Dark Element Complete New Album

Former Nightwish frontwoman Anette Olzon announced today that the second album of the electronic/symphonic metal band The Dark Element has been completed.

The Dark Element – The Ghost and the Reaper (Frontiers)

The Dark Element was almost five years after Anette Olzon parted ways with Nightwish. She and former Sonata Arctica guitarist Jani Liimatainen partnered up for a collaboration and, in November 2017, their self-titled debut was released.

No further details have been confirmed yet, but as the mastering nears completion we should expect some information within a couple of weeks.

Majestica Release New Single

Swedish power outfit Majestica (formerly ReinXeed) announced that they had a new album on the way about a month ago. Upon the announcement, they revealed the first single, ‘Rising Tide’, which is about as true as power metal gets.

Today, the band dropped their second single, which does things a bit differently.

Majestica – Night Call Girl (Nuclear Blast)

‘Night Call Girl’ is an 80s tribute song from some of the bandmates’ favourite artists of the era, such as Gary Moore, Rick Springfield, Europe, and Journey. And, as is the way of these influences, this track is super fucking cheesy.

Make sure to catch Majestica’s Above the Sky when it comes out 7 June!
